What should I expect when purchasing property to rent?

What should I be looking for? I know city and state requirements differ from city to city or state to state, but what are the basic things I should be expecting during the purchasing, repairing, and renting the property? I am looking at three properties which are bank repos and the price is pretty reasonable.
These properties were orignally single family homes not rental properties.

I own property right next to a golf course in a rural area out in the country and would like to develope the land and build a cabin or two just as a weekend get away rental property. I am a single mom and have heard that there are several grants for women started businesses but I haven’t found them yet. I’m a Canadian on vacation in Europe right now. In Munich now and will be taking the train to Paris. I’ve realised that I probably packed too much clothes in my luggage. it’s too heavy and doesn’t leave much space for the clothes and things that i will be buying here. is it possible for me to take a bunch of my clothes and ship it back home in a backpack or something?? because i really won’t need the extra clothes and it is just too much space being pointlessly used. what would be the cheapest way for me to ship some of it back home so that i don’t have as much stuff to carry around??

#1: Owning a spacious condo overlooking Lake Ontario, getting tons of money for her hard work, owning lots of nice clothes, owning a nice luxury car, owning lots of nice stereo equipment, furniture, getting to go on alot of nice vacations and lots of rock concerts and having a ton of friends

#2: Getting little money for hard work, getting respect from your managers, supervisors and teammates, you meaning alot from your job, being one of the most dependable employees Shopko has ever had, cheap clothes, still living at your parents home, having food on the table and a roof over your head at a cheap clothes to wear and having 2 good quality friends.

I personally like the rewards in the #1 category better cause I like getting treated well for my hard work and I also want to have a ton of friends and I want to be a high class person.

Sadly I get the majority of the rewards in the #2 category and hardly any in the #1 category
I have a friend who has all of the rewards in the #1 category and I sure wish that I can live her lifestyle and get rewarded the same way she does for her hard work and she’s only a few months younger than me.

Can someone else buy property for you but not have their name on the deed?

There is a piece of land I want to buy. My mother offered to pay for it so that I wouldn’t have to go through a bank for a loan and I would be paying her back monthly on our own pay shedule. She does not want her name on the deed, just mine. Can we do this? Would she be allowed to buy property but not have it in her name? She wouldn’t be giving me the money to pay for it, she would be paying the sellers directly. Thanks for any advice you can give!

What is the big difference between a Real Estate Company leasing a commercial property versus a property management company? It seems like its the same leasing idea (and contract?) but maybe with different tasks AFTER the lease is signed? Are the leasing fees/commissions usually the same? I guess I am trying to figure out why someone would go through a management company versus a real estate company or what really makes the difference?

So I just got a call from someone I know that decided to invest in a bunch of foreclosures with a bunch of friends (so he says). He has various listings. Anyhow, here is the thing. he called and said they are selling the properties with a 20% down PLUS he would give me an extra 20K? What do you think is the catch? He says he is just trying to sell the properties as fast as they can since they are making payments on them every month. heehee… it woud be funny if he saw this on ASK. Sorry buddy! Just trying to figure you out. I know theres gotta be a catch. What kinds of questions should I ask him?

Getting evicted with small children in the state of Pennsylvania?

My landlord has sent us a 15 day notice of eviction because he came into our house when we were not here and without permission or notice and saw that we had gotten a small dog. The lease does say that pets are not allowed but the guy is a family friend and said he would let it slide with our other two dogs because it is a big house with a huge yard. We do not pay rent, instead we work for him (a lot) in lou of the rent but on the eviction notice he stated that we owe him $4000 in rent! My husband landscapes all of his properties (including a huge apartment building), is the super of his apartment building, fixes his other rentals, and cuts down his trees. He has never paid us for our work it has just always come off of the rent. We have lived here for a year and have never received a rent bill or a late notice. We have three babies and I heard that in the state of PA you can’t evict someone if they have small children, is that true? What are our rights?
