Home inspection, no power to property, buying dispute?

sell property fast

Recently made an offer on a home. It is in great condition, at least to the naked eye. Seller’s accepted our offer and we are in closing. Seller requested a fast inspection of the property. When we looked at the property, we noticed that the power to the property had been shut off. This was a divorce sale and neither party would pay the utilities. Anyhow, we requested through our agent that the utilities MUSTbe active for a proper inspection to be done. As noted by our inspector, the inspection would only be half good without power. The selling agent assured us the power would be on.

Well you guessed it. Inspector shows up and there is NO POWER! Selling agent states we still must follow through on the deal since we never put it in writing. I called BS as no inspection is an inspection without power???? It’s like asking someone to test drive a car with no tires. Can I legally back out of the deal?

Thanks

any advice on handling a divorce after 25 yrs of marriage?

sell property fast

Deployed overseas for 2 years. Returned to find Husband lazing around house, watching sports, refuses to help w/ home improvements. Our son (16) was left to do whatever he wanted. Now I have to re-engage son – now has behavioral issues (angry) and husband thinks I need therapy – wants to leave. Clincher…we own 2 properties valued at 1 = $600K the other at $900K. Husband told me that he has asked the tenant at prop 1= (600K) to leave so he can sell the house and buy out of state. Wants me to sign over property so he can leave, but he does not want to give me a divorce – this would mess up his taxes. does not want me to remove his name from prop2 (900K) -he wants half of whatever I sell the prop for, when I decide to sell it. Should I just sign papers for property 1 (600K) to get him out, or stand fast until both properties are sold. Atty told me that it MAY take up to TWO years for a divorce. I won’t make it. Need a hand. I will be deploying again in 6-8 month

question about selling property in a divorce?

sell property fast

My husband informed me today that he has someone coming to look at our house to buy it. I knew we both agreed to sell it in the future (after he finnished some repairs) but I had no idea he was going to do so this fast. He flat out told me that he is going to take the first offer, no matter how much it is, as long as it equal to or high than what we own. The thing is, it’s worth two times what we owe, and i dont want to be ripped off. Since my name is on the mortgage too, he cant sell it without my approval or agreeance, can he?
