if a person dies and leaves an exective to handle the real estate property, is the executive of the estate allowed to sell the property without 1st listing it in the open real esate mkt.

I took a property off the market a while back cause it didnt sell. Now there is someone who wants to buy it. The troulbe is it is not listed with a real esate man. what percautions do i take to sell property? Note the guy is a family friend which will help.
