My family lived in a rental house. There was a fire in the kitchen which totally destroyed it (the kitchen). The house is not liveable and we did not have renters insurance. We found temporary shelter, but the landlord is cancelling our lease, keeping our deposit and the payment for May’s rent, which I had already sent him. He says he is keeping the payment to help him pay his insurance deductible, or we’d have the pay out the lease for the rest of the term. Is that right or legal even. Need help quick!
I have $100,000 to invest in a small rental property, perhaps a Condominium. I was wondering where in the United States I can invest this money in a rental property so as to maximize my return in terms of monthly income. My friend told me that in Las Vegas I could probably invest in two condos and receive $800 a month in rent from each of them, earning me $1600 a month. Any idas here?
The community has more than 40% rental units which is said to negatively effects property values….so the HOA recently passed a rule that not more than 30% of the homes can be rentals,at the time we thought nothing of it and signed in favor of the rule. But now we need to rent out the home.
Can the fact that we supported this rule be held against us now?We dont have the money to sue the HOA.What can we do?
In the state of CA, if the owner of rental (single-family home) have to pay for the tentants moving expense. My landlord wants to sell the rental property to a family member, they have given us a 90 notice (verbal), but since give us a written notice back dated to April…the only reason they are selling the home is they can’t afford the up keep; we have lived in the home for 12 years and is current with the rent…it is a month to month lease. Are they partly or full responsible for my moving expense? If, so how does it work?
I plan on building a large shop w/10 stalls for 2-3 cars each, I want to be able to rent these out to whoever needs a space to work on cars etc.. What legal issues might I face? I’ve never heard of a problem w/renting out part of my house to friends or whoever, and I even rent out my current small shop to a friend, is this any different?
Thanks!!

Hello,
I have a vehicle which I use for both personal use and for my income producing property ( residential house). I use the vehicle mostly for personal use but use it to bring materials needed for my income producing property and to pick up rent. Once I sell this vehicle can I recognize a loss on my tax return since I use it for my income producing property?
I would like to demolish a small house and garage on my property and want to rent a excavator for the day. Is this something I could do myself? I live in Ma.
She was promised by my husband to live in the back house for free till the rest of her life, but has been making constructions there without our knowledge, closed off common washroom for tenants in the front house, her other son moved in with her without our authorization. Is it good for an eviction?

My wife & I are planning on retiring there with our meager retirement savings (approx. $,1200 a mo.) We’re not planning on buying a property, just rent maybe a small 2-bdrm condo or apt. near transportation lines. Close to malls, hospitals, etc. Is it possible to live there on this monthly amount?
So we are renting a cabin for 3 days in big bear, but when I asked the renter to send more pictures of the property she sent me to a side for real estate…I suppose she is selling her home. Can you still rent a home out for a 3 day vacation to someone, but the home is also on the market…? Is that possible??? Or is she scamming us? http://www.zillow.com/homedetails/42133-… that is the home we are supposed to be renting for 3 days
One year ago this month we were lured into signing a lease on a property that was suppose to rent to own. I was told that we had to be in a lease a year before transfering it over to rent to own I was also told that the $6500 we have paid in rent would be counted torward the rent to own. However none of this has happened and I recently found out that the person that rented it to me is a real estate broker and he does not even own the house. What are my options Please Help! The only reason we signed the lease is because we were lied into it. I have documentation proving this.

I rent out a small flat – my property “business”. I am declaring my income to the tax man. Because I do the paperwork for the “business” in my own home, can I claim back a proportion of my own household bills from the tax man?
I want to be able to use the property 2 – 4 weeks a year. It would be great if it would pay for itself month to month, but I could handle a monthly payment. What areas should I look in? Is there a property management group I should know about? Real Estate agent I should know about? Should I wait a year or two for the market to come down?
We are looking to buy a property and rent it out as a vacation rental, not a long term rental. If anyone has any guidance on this, suggestions, or recommendations they would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I recently received a minor for underage consumption while I was drinking on property that I rent. There were no other minors drinking there at the time. I had thought that I was in the clear. Am I wrong?
If I own property with a few family members and one lives in the house but does not pay rent, can they be forced to pay rent to the other co-owners? We are planning on selling it, but in the mean time would like to rent it out. We are not looking for a partition.
