Can I be evicted if I’m a deed owner of the house? Does the lease become void too?

lease house

My uncle, brother, and sister are trying to evict me from the house because I wont be able to pay my rent because I just lost my job. I have a lease, and I’m on the deed as an owner. What remedies do they have, and does the lease get trumped by state law?

Why would you have to pay rent if you are on the deed as owner of the house? The only way they could legally evict you with your name on the deed as an owner is if there was a contract signed stating the terms of your living arrangements and you did something to break that contract. However, they may be able to force you to sell your part in the ownership of the house if their reasoning to the legal system is valid enough. The only drawback is that lawyers and court costs may exceed the amount your part in ownership is worth. they might as well not even try.

I have no idea what the deed says, other than your name appears on it somewhere. I cannot determine what rights you might have based on that. If you own the home, you have the right to stay there without paying any rent.

if they are part owners too they can take some action at least to pay the bills if you own part of it then you are responsible for your share you cant expect them to pay it all and just let you take a free ride
