I never heard of that site. I would recommend talking to the IRS.
The IRS confiscates homes that previous owners could not pay for (therefore losing the home) and sells it for cheap. I’ve seen couples buying homes as cheap as 50,000 dollars. Of course this was before 9/11.

First thing you should do is get a real estate agent. Then contact bank for loan. Once you get a loan, the bank will give you education and resources that you will need.

It is a good time to buy in most areas-bank owned or not. It is a buyer’s market. If you are interested in bank owned properties find a local agent that specializes in such properties. You will also need to be pre-approved for a loan before any bank will even look at your offer. An experienced loan officer will be able to tell you exactly how much you will qualify to purchase. I have not heard of that site so I am not familiar with it. A real estate agent with knowledge of the bank owned properties in your area is going to be your greatest asset when locating bank owned properties and guidelines to negotiating offers. Contacting a bank directly for information on a specific property they may have for sale will get you nowhere. Use an agent for best results.

You said “i got the site from my mom and i thought it would make things easier, but still needs to get myself involve unfortunately.”
Buying a house or even signing a lease for a house is a HUGE responsibility. If you are not willing to get involved in the process, what are you doing?
If you just want to rent an apartment or house, check the local papers, go look at the apartments, look over a lease and sign it.
If you are truly looking to buy a property, get a real estate agent in the area you are interested in and commit yourself to getting completely involved in the lending process, the looking process and finally the ownership process.
If you are buying, this is one of the biggest decisions you will make – you can’t do it and stay uninvolved.
PS Most of these foreclosure sites are bogus and want your money and in the long run, you will have to contact a real estate professional anyway. If you are serious about buying, just contact a real estate agent and they should educate you about the process and what you must do.
