What is the holding fee for which you pay before you begin to rent a property from an agency?
it just seems youar iving your mony away for no reason when you are payung admin and your deposit.

This is normally agreed between you at the start/signing of the rental/leasing agreement and can vary enormously.

Mine was £170, consider it a slice of profit for your letting agent, everyone has to pay it.

Hi, the holding fee or deposit is for any breakages, damage or arrears in rent that may occur during your tenancy.

All you should pay is your admin fee and your security deposit, holding fees are illegal unless the amount you paid will be put towards your first months rent or security deposit.
