Where do you find a pet friendly property to rent?

rent property

Has any one come across any sites that are pet friendly where by you can search for a home to rent if you own a pet.
When we phone local agents to see what they have on offer that allows pets the answer seems to be the same ” our landlords do not allow pets” . Owning a pets seems to put you in a bad position, we will never give up our pets, would rather live rough.
any advice would be GREAT

Look online at apartments.com. Some of them allow them & some don’t. Some you must pay a down just incase your animal tears up things. But, thats only for cats/dogs not animals that are in cages, birds/hamsters/fish/ferrets,etc.

If you have a disability bipolar, ADD or something like that you can bring in animal in the place for free for the fact of the disibility. I have bipolar and they said an animal would calm me down but, I just use that excuse to have the animals. C=

It’s quite difficult to find a place to rent that will allow you to keep pets. Most Landlords/Agencies assume that keeping pets in their properties will somehow cause some damage to the property, so most of them don’t allow it.
Maybe they’ve had trouble in the past with some previous tenants who’ve let their pets run wild & trash the place (there are a lot of irresponsible pet-owners out there). So their solution is an outright ban, which is obviously unfair… but hey, that’s life.
What I’ve done in the past is just move your pet in anyway, without telling them. Most landlords/agents aren’t going to be coming round much to inspect the place – they’re just in it for the money really…. so you should be ok for a while.
They can’t just turn up and do this, they have to give you some notice first. So if you’re worried, you could get a friend to look after your pet for the day while they’re round.
If you want to tell them after a while, say you’ve just got the pet and ask them if it’s ok for you to keep it in the property. Most of them should be alright about it, but what’s the worst they can do…. kick you out?
    Anyway, good luck with that.
