Are the children’s names on the deed to the house? I don’t know why she would need your consent, but in that case, each of you should just deed over your proportionate shares to your mother. Then she would own 100% of the house and need no one’s consent to sell it.

why does she need a letter of consent from the children to sell the house. the house is in her name, correct….if that’s the case you as the offspring have no legalities to the house until she’s dyes and leaves the house in her will.

That doesn’t sound right, but……………you can always just write a note saying that you relenquish all rights to the property located at ( legal desription), have it notarized, and send it to her. It doesn’t have to be fancy, just needs all the details of the property and it;s location that you can usually get right off the County’s website.

I am under the understanding that you need to check that locally because every state is different. My sister in law used to live in Illinois and is now here in Texas. She wrote a letter as it would be written here in Texas and was told it would not be a good letter. Her brother in Illinois faxed her an Illinois letter and she just signed it. I dont know for sure , I hope this helps. Peace.

If the question belongs to India, then I advise you to please approach an advocate. He will guide you and do the needful. Some legal documents has to be prepared in this connection and it differs from state to state in India.
