My wife and I bought some acreage and built a nice house in a rural northeast Texas county known for it's low tax rate, and the VERY NEXT year the tax rate tripled!! And then the following year it doubled again. And this county is a poor jobless county as well, and their excuse was that the State office would come down on them for being so behind on their tax assessment, and so if they didn't "do it" to us, the State would come "do it" to them and us. AND, our property lies in TWO (2) school districts! How exciting. Somehow, someway, someday, they're gonna get their's for pulling this nonsense on us. God Bless you. I couldn’t agree with you more!!
