No matter what do stay at a Disney resort and make those reservations NOW! Stay at any of the value resorts like All Star Music, Pop Century, All Star Movies or All Star Sports if you want to save money. If they’re booked for this time of year then I’d suggest Coronado Springs or maybe Port Orleans. I guess you already know the parks will be super crowded. This is by far one of the busiest times of the year. Make sure you get to the park before it opens and run over to get a Fastpass to your favorite attraction. Be aware that Fastpasses can and will run out early in the day. If you want to save money on park passes I suggest you check out Undercovertourist.com. They offer passes at a discount and give you free additional days too. They are a legitimate company so don’t be afraid to use them. I strongly suggest you get a Park Hopper pass so you can leave one park and visit another one the same day. This comes in especially handy when you visit Animal Kingdom since they close around 5:00 pm. Hope you have a great time!

I would suggest that you at least book your room now. You can always upgrade to a package / dining.

I think the value resorts are great. Wonderful theming. If you only are planning on sleeping there, then go for it. If you require a lot of space or will be spending a lot of time at the resort, you may want to go for a moderate or deluxe.

Check the links below for more info.

    Happy planning!

pop century is cheap, but the Port Orleans Riverside is also cheap and is amazingly themed. It is also extremely nice and close to all the parks. They have a great pool and you can take a boat down to epcot or the downtown disney. It is amazing going down the river during a firework show. If you want to be in the middle of everything and pay alittle bit more, go to the contemporary. I have great experiences there and the monorail is so convenient. Also, it is right next to MK and you can watch fireworks from the roof

I think it depends on how many people are in your group. We stayed at Pop Century with a 4 year old, a 7 year old, and two parents. We were way too crowded; the room was quite small. I am also convinced that the buses for Pop Century are routed all kinds of crazy ways around the property; it once took us over 35 minutes to go from Epcot to Pop Century and it’s essentially across the street.

I would recommend Caribbean Beach instead if you are traveling with kids. The rooms include a refrigerator, and there’s a curtain between the sink area and the beds as well as extra storage under the sink. The rooms all look out onto courtyards or the pool or even a beach, so there are places you can go to, say, read without waking the kids but you can still see the room and supervise them (we usually bring the baby monitor).

First of all you are making a very wise decision. The best and only way to visit the Disney parks is to stay on property. There is no other way to get the unbelieveable perks they offer to their resort guests, and with the time of year you are going to be there those perks will come in handy. No matter which resort you choose, make sure to make the reservations ASAP. You are going to be there over the Christmas holiday, so it will be packed.

When you are setting up your trip purchase and book everything straight thru Disney. Contrary to popular belief, Disney actually keeps the best discounts for themselves so they can pass them on to the guests. You can check AAA or one of the other sites. The discount you get is very small if any, and trust me you end up not getting what you pay for. I think the operative phrase is “Buyer Beware!!” The rooms that do end up on a discount site are the rooms that have a horrible view or are the least desirable for one reason or another. That goes for passes as well. You are better off doing everything as a package, in terms of price and reliability. If you book straight thru Disney the cast members are trained to get you the most bang for your buck. I have always done everything thru them as a package and never been disappointed. I can’t say the same for a few friends of mine, however. They thought that by using a discount site they would save more money. They sure did, but didn’t get what they thought they paid for.

As for where to stay I think it all comes down to personal preference. You really can’t go wrong with any of the Disney resorts, whether they are value, moderate, deluxe or vacation club. If you are looking at the value and moderate levels of resort, my favorites in those categories are the All-Star Movies for the values, and the Caribbean Beach resort for the moderates.

The All-Star Movies resort is a wonderful place to stay (I have stayed here twice.) The themes and decor are great, each wing a different classic Disney movie. There is a huge pool, game room, and pretty good food court. The only real drawbacks are that there is no sit down table service restaurant and the rooms are on the smaller side, but that is really not that much of an inconvienience. For the values, the Pop Century is a very close second. The only thing that Pop has over All-Star Movies is that is does not share a bus line as the All-Stars do. Otherwise they are pretty equal in my book.

The Caribbean Beach resort is a great place to stay from the moderate level. The rooms are a bit bigger, there are multiple pools instead of just the one big pool, there is a sit down table service restaurant along with a food court, and there are many more things to do at the resort itself than at the values. If you decide you want a bit more room, go with the Caribbean Beach. We loved our stay there. The pool was huge and the staff very friendly.

I would suggest checking out two places for some really good info. First, go to the Disney website and use their resort comparison tool. You can see which resort is best for you. Also, check out the disboards. The disboards is a message boards website all about going to Disney. You can get resort reviews, restaurant reviews, opinions, tips and tricks all from people like you and me that go to Disney often and know what they are talking about. I put both links below.

Hope this helps, have a great trip!!

The time you are planning to travel is the absolute busiest time at WDW. I have been there only once over New Year’s Eve and EPCOT shut it’s doors early in the afternoon because the park was filled to capacity. It was crazy and uncomfortably busy, undoubtedly the worst day I’ve ever spent at Disney. You couldn’t pay me to go back at that time again.

I have stayed at Port Orleans and found it very nice. It’s beautiful and quiet, but not one of the value resorts. You might have a problem with things being booked. My advice is to decide quickly and get your reservations made.

As far as cheap tickets go, there is no such thing. can save you a few dollars per ticket based on how long you go. Don’t buy tickets from unauthorized sellers. You’ll end up with fakes or expired tickets. Also, resist ebay or other resellers. Don’t spend money on information about cheap tickets. It’s a scam. Disney tickets don’t go on sale and if you find them rock bottom cheap, you’re getting scammed.

    Good luck!

I’ve stayed at all the value resorts, and I prefer Pop Century. It has its own bus system to the parks, whereas if you stay at the All-Stars you have to stop at each of the three hotels and let people get on or off. Pop Century has just one stop. They also have amazing twinkie tirimisu in the Food Court.
