i need help, (personal and music) its really important to me. help please?
ive been looking around for descent music lessons.
(private singing lessons).
and the minimum i would have to go is an hour and 10min away.
dont get me wrong i would do it in a heart beat.
but my parents are strange, they think going somewhere thats 20min away is an eternity in the car.
and on top of that they dont let me go out my life is school, home, and church. and right now im out for summer vacation. and no my church does not have a choir, and trust me the pastors wouldn’t start one.
im going to call to ask for the cost in a while, but my parents are also kinda cheap they think anything that cost more than $5.00 is expensive.
im 16, so im trying to get a job, so i would be able to pay. i asked my mom but she avoided the question, like she always does when she thinks something is not a good idea. i guess i’ll ask my dad when he gets home, but im pretty sure his answer will be the same.
ive wanted to be a musician since i was 5. ilove music and ive finally deiced to get up and try instead of feeling defeated because i have no support.
my questions are:
how much do private signing lesson cost?
how long did it take you (or someone you know) to become good?
are youtube singing lessons good?
do you think its too late for me to start lessons?
and do you think their might be anyway to convince my parents to let me do this?
(yeahh their kinda impossible, they think that anyone who isnt them is inferior, and ignorant)

does your school have a choir? my music teacher gave me free private singing lessons and ive improved a ton. internet cources dont really work for most people. and your age is perfect if you act now so dont worry about that… it depends on where you live, you could google singing lessons in your area, or have u already tried that?

My sisters lessons cost about 10 bucks I think it was.
She never became good…. shes tone def.
It really all just depends on how you sing if your going to be any good or not… I have been singing since i could talk and I know a little something about it… it takes time to get your voice down.. you have to be able to hear different pitches and match them… its all up to you and your performance…
Its never too late to do anything.
And for you to convince your parents is on you… only you know them like you do… try telling them how much it means to you and if you wanna persue a career in it tell them that..

1. When I took singing lessons it was $50 a session (about 2 hours) I’m not sure what the going price it now
2. If you are not already good, voice lessons prob. will not help. Voice lessons are more like showing you how to use your voice in the correct way.
3. No. Instructors need to hear what you are doing to help you. You cannot do that on youtube
4.Nope, it’s not too late actually it is better imo
5.Your family sounds religious why don’t you just tell them you want to bee a Christian singer? Don’t lie though if you’re not planning on doing that. You’re 16 if they don’t want to drive you there you could always use your car or borrow theirs. And if you pay for it that shouldn’t have any problems
